One of the things that I wanted to photograph the most in New Orleans was the St. Louis Cathedral. The cathedral claims to be the oldest Catholic cathedral in continual use in the United States. Its full name is the Cathedral-Basilica of St. Louis King of France and it was originally built in 1727. I am not sure why I am so drawn to churches. Maybe partly being raised in the Church (not Catholic tho). Or maybe its the engineer in me and I seem to marvel at how these beautiful buildings were constructed so long ago. I visited the cathedral several times over my stay in New Orleans. This being the first.
